DAY 1 - SAN FRANCISCO CITY

Twin Peaks

It was a cold morning, but it didn't affect our excitement as we were going to visit many interesting and iconic places around San Francisco City. Our first stopover was the Twin Peaks. It's a famous sightseeing spot, and it was only an hour drive from our home-stay in Cupertino. As we reached there, we were mesmerized by the panoramic views of the entire city, the Bay, the bridge, the buildings, everything. I quickly took a deep breath, and the cold air was so refreshing. I felt so energetic!

City Hall & Pioneer Monuments

Our second destination was the SF City Hall. It was the seat of the government for the City and Country of SF, California. It was built in the year 1915, costing USD 3.4 million. We took a group picture in front of the Pioneer Monument. It consisted of a large female figure of Athena(Greek), the Goddess of Wisdom and War, representing "Crossing the Sierra".

union Square

Then, we visited Union Square, which located in downtown SF. We came across an enormous Christmas Tress standing in the centre. There were many shopping malls, theatres, hotels there. Besides, a special cable car lines (Powell-Hyde & Powell Manson) also serving Union Square in Powell Street. We decided to take cable cars from Union Square to Fisherman's Wharf. Each boarding ticket was only US$ 7. It was my first time boarding a cable car that rode on public roads!

Fisherman's Wharf

Finally, we arrived at Fisherman's Wharf, a historic waterfront district that was famous for its delicious seafood. The place was crowded with tourists. I frequented a souvenirs store and bought some souvenirs for my friends and family.

Golden Gate Bridge

Once called "the bridge that couldn't be built," is now one of the seven wonders of the modern world. In the evening, we visited the Golden Gate Bridge, a significant landmark in San Francisco. I was fascinated by this incredible architecture. Golden Gate Bridge was enormous that it connected SF to northern California's countries. We took some nice photos and watched the sunset there.

Pier 39

We headed to Pier 39 for dinner. There was a huge Christmas tree at the entrance, welcoming all the visitors. I enjoyed being in the Christmas celebration atmosphere.
